[February 11, 2008]  Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital has introduced a new monthly support group for people of all ages with all types of diabetes.

The group will meet for one hour the third Friday of each month in the Lincoln Conference Room at ALMH. Two sessions are planned, at 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., to accommodate various schedules.

ALMH dietitian Jennifer DiPasquale, RD, LD, will lead the group in a discussion of diabetic nutrition and other diabetic health topics.

Diabetics, pre-diabetics and those with a family history of diabetes are encouraged to attend. Spouses, parents, teachers, coaches and friends of diabetics are also welcomed to share and learn.

There is no cost to attend. Registration is not necessary, and walk-ins are always welcome.

For more information about diabetes and the support group, contact Jennifer DiPasquale at 732-2161, ext. 75199, or e-mail her at diabetes@almh.org.

ALMH sponsors support groups for multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia and Parkinson's. For more information on free programs offered at ALMH, visit www.almh.org to view a calendar of events.
