[February 20, 2008]  MINIER -- A chance to reduce your insurance premium and become a safe driver all in one!

A refresher course in safe driving techniques for people 50 years old and over is being sponsored by the Minier-Armington Police Department, First Farmers State Bank of Minier, RSVP and AARP.

Learn defensive driving, new traffic laws, and how to adjust your driving to changes in vision, hearing and reaction time.

There is no test to take, and most insurance companies will provide a multiyear discount to graduates of this course. There is no fee, as the class will be sponsored by the bank and the police department.

The class will be May 6 and 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Minier Village Hall, 110 W. Central in Minier.

To reserve your space, call Amy Crump at the First Farmers State Bank in Minier at 309-392-2623. A maximum of 30 people will be allowed, so preregistrations are required.
