[February 20, 2008]  (AP) Wet weather was expected to continue Wednesday in the West. Rain and high-elevation snow was forecast from Southern California through Colorado and New Mexico. A few thunderstorms were also possible in Southern California in the morning.

Showers were also expected along the coast from Texas through the Florida Panhandle, and snow was likely from Illinois through Maryland and Delaware.

Temperatures were expected to be in the 30s as far south as northern Oklahoma, while parts of the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest would again struggle to rise above 0 degrees. Wind chills were to dip as low as minus 50 degrees in the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states on Tuesday ranged from a low of minus 31 degrees at Embarrass, Minn., to a high of 80 degrees at Yuma, Ariz.
