ZLS American Legion Essay Contest Winners

[February 29, 2008]  Students from Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln took top honors in the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 263 patriotism essay contest. The theme for each essay was "Patriotism -- The Spirit of America."

Pictured are Ethan Hartman, third place; Lauren Stanfield, second place; Marlene Schrader, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 263 Americanism chairwoman; Morgan Conrady, first place; and Sam Opperman, fourth place.

Each winner received a certificate and monetary prize.

Morgan's essay has been submitted for consideration at the district level.
