[February 29, 2008]  The Lincoln College Theatre Department is presenting a spring production this weekend.

"The Sweetest Swing in Baseball," written by Rebecca Gilman, is a drama that opens with a successful artist, Dana Fielding, who experiences a disastrous gallery showing. With her personal life in shambles, the artist finds safety in a psychiatric hospital, and unfortunately her insurance company will only pay for 10 days. In desperate need of a more hospital-worthy illness, Dana pretends to believe she is former baseball player Darryl Strawberry.

With hilarious dialogue and rich characters, viewers will experience the state of health insurance, the legacy of fame, and ways in which we re-craft our identity.

Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with a matinee performance at 2 p.m. Sunday. Ticket prices are $5 for adults, $4.00 for children and senior citizens.
