[January 10, 2008]  A small stream flood advisory remains in effect until 4:45 p.m. Thursday for Logan County.

Wednesday evening, minor flooding was continuing along Kickapoo Creek, especially in the town of Lawndale. This minor flooding is expected to continue overnight and gradually subside during the day Thursday.

Excessive runoff from the excessive rainfall that occurred late Monday will continue to cause flooding of small creeks, streams, rural roads and underpasses. Farmlands along the banks of creeks, streams and other low-lying areas are also subject to flooding. Do not drive into flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night, when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Do not drive into areas where water covers the road. When water begins rising, do not stay in areas subject to flooding.

Report any flooding to your local emergency manager or the nearest law enforcement agency for relay to the National Weather Service.
