"This tournament today was special as it was named in honor of
former coach Connie Link, who is terminally ill," said Ed Jodlowski,
one of the Lincoln coaches. "In lieu of trophies for the top teams,
they decided to make a donation to a charity of the winning teams.
We made our donation to the Bro-Men Hospice in honor of Miss Link --
she is a mentor to both Ms. Schreiber and myself -- so we were truly
honored by the team's tremendous effort."
The team prepares to travel to the competitive Downers Grove
South tournament this weekend. The tournament in Lincoln is slated
for Jan. 26.
