[January 18, 2008]  (AP) Snow, ice and rain were forecast to move through the Northeast on Friday, with the interior of New England seeing mostly snow. Coastal regions were expected to get snow mixed with rain, turning completely to rain later in the day.

Another storm was forecast to hit the East Coast over the weekend. Heavy rain was expected in the South and Southeast on Saturday morning before moving into the Northeast.

Light snow was forecast for the northern Plains on Friday. Snow showers were likely from Montana and Colorado eastward through the Midwest. The region could also see high winds.

In the West, warm and clear weather was forecast across California, Nevada and the Southwest.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states ranged on Thursday from minus 38 degrees at Gunnison, Colo., to 83 degrees at Marathon, Fla.
