Mike Fak, local columnist, blogger and writing
coach, is now affiliated with Lincoln Daily News. Fak, who has had
over a thousand columns published in local and Internet
publications, is going to be working on "special assignments" for
LDN. He said, "I want it known that I am offering my services and
those of the Lincoln Daily News to help businesses, charitable
organizations and other worthwhile causes to get their messages out
into the mainstream public through this newspaper and Atlanta radio
station WLCN 96.3 FM."

Fak went on to explain his new focus. "Too often the only time a
business gets press is when something bad happens," he said. "I
think there are literally hundreds of great human interest stories
out there that deserve to be told. They are stories that show the
redeeming values of our area's businesses and what they do and offer
and commit to this community. I want to help them share their
positive stories." Besides focusing on the local businesses, Fak
also wants to help important causes and charities to get as much
publicity for their worthwhile events as possible. "I know that
sometimes station manager Jim Ash at WLCN, and I'm sure Jan
Youngquist at the LDN, get frustrated when events are planned that
both of them would be happy to promote, but they just aren't brought
to their attention in a timely manner, if at all," he said.
"Hopefully I can act as a ‘clearinghouse' to make sure everyone in
the community is aware of what is happening, why it is happening and
what the hoped for end result will be."

Fak would be happy to communicate with individuals regarding
their businesses or organizations and recommends you contact him at
mefak@msn.com. His home phone
number is 732-9561, but he suggests using his e-mail address "so we
don't end up playing phone tag, as my schedule often takes me out of
the house."
He is enthused about his new arrangement with LDN and his
continued Friday morning program on 96.3. "Logan County has been
extremely good to me over the years," he said. "I really am looking
forward to helping share all the good, positive things this
community and its people have to offer. It's time we bragged about
ourselves a little bit. I am offering to help."
