[January 22, 2008]  Lincoln College Communiversity will offer two non-credit courses starting in February. One course features an overview of religion and the other will examine the role of writing a theater review.

Religions of the World will examine how religion serves as the vital connection in understanding human history. John Welter, Lincoln College religion instructor, will teach the Saturday course, which begins on Feb. 2 and runs until March 8.

The Theatre Critic 101 course will delve into a current Lincoln College production to help the student understand the motivation behind how a review is composed. Chris Gray, Lincoln College fine arts chair, will teach the course, which starts Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Both courses are the result of a focus-group finding.

Lincoln College President John Hutchinson anticipates both classes to fill quickly due to the subject matter. "The goal of LC Communiversity is to learn something while having fun," said Hutchinson. "Both courses will enlighten those who have always wanted to know more on the subject but didn't have the time due to work schedules."

Registration for both courses is open now. For more information on the Communiversity program, call Jean Ann Miller at 217-732-3155, ext. 251, or visit www.lincolncollege.edu/communiversity/ to download the current course offerings.
