Mason City Community Choir to Be Called 'Noteworthy'

[January 22, 2008]  MASON CITY -- Hopefully, a single word will say all that needs to be said about the community choir. "Noteworthy" is to be the new name of the Mason City Area Community Choir. The group plans to be a continuing entity and hopes to be a meaningful addition to Mason City and the towns around. All are welcome to come and join in the music, the fellowship and the fun.

Having acquired leftover music from the school district (with many thanks), the choir hopes to promote itself with a new look and a wonderful sound.

A rehearsal is planned for Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Activity Room of the Mason City Area Nursing Home. Again, many thanks to them for the use of their facility.

Other business at hand is to have as many members there as possible -- the reason being to get everyone's sizes for shirts to be ordered. All are asked to donate $5 or more to the choir to cover the cost of the shirts.

And rest assured that even though there is now a board for the choir, it is a community effort. All suggestions for music, groups, rehearsals and performances are encouraged.

Hope to see a lot of you on Thursday.
