Agricultural Futures Plummet on CBOT

[January 24, 2008]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agricultural futures plunged Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for March delivery fell 29 cents to $9.05 a bushel; March corn lost 19.75 cents to $4.6925 a bushel; March oats shed 5.5 cents to $3.08 a bushel; March soybeans plunged 50 cents to $11.895 a bushel.

Beef futures ended mixed and pork futures settled lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

February live cattle fell 0.57 cent to 90.45 cents a pound; January feeder cattle added 0.30 cent to 98.35 a pound; February lean hogs lost 0.02 cent to 55.25 cents a pound; February pork bellies slipped 0.15 cent to 83.80 cents a pound.
