[January 24, 2008]  The National Weather Service in Lincoln has canceled the wind chill advisory for the counties of Knox, Stark, Peoria, Marshall, Woodford, Fulton, Tazewell, McLean,

Schuyler, Mason, Logan, DeWitt, Piatt, Champaign and Vermilion, including the cities of Galesburg, Peoria, Bloomington, Normal, Havana, Lincoln, Champaign, Urbana and Danville.

Despite actual air temperatures hovering around zero across much of central Illinois on Thursday morning, winds have become light enough that wind chill values have climbed above advisory criteria. Even though the advisory is being lifted, very cold conditions will persist for the remainder of the day. You are advised to limit your time outdoors, and if you must go out, you should dress in layers and wear a hat and gloves.
