[January 28, 2008]  The following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending Jan. 26:

NORDSTROM CANDLES 

Nordstrom Inc. is recalling Nordstrom "At Home" Taper and Votive Candles sold nationwide from September 2007 to December 2007. The candle's exterior coating can ignite, posing a fire hazard. 

This recall involves Nordstrom "At Home" 10-inch taper candles and Nordstrom "At Home" votive candles. The taper candles were sold under style numbers NR-07059G and NR-07059S. The votive candles were sold under style numbers NR-07001G and NR-07001S. The style number can be found on a sticker at the bottom of the packaging. 

Consumers should return the candles to any Nordstrom store for a full refund.

TOY RACING CARS 

OKK Trading Inc. is recalling Toy Racing Cars sold nationwide from October 2007 to November 2007. Surface paint on the toy cars contains excessive levels of lead. 

This recall involves toy racing cars that are operated with a remote control. The toy racing car comes with four additional tires and one remote control. "Formula 1" is printed on the packaging. 

Consumers should return the cars to the store where purchased for a refund.

MAGNETIC CONSTRUCTION SETS 

Battat Inc. is recalling Battat Magnabild Magnetic Building Systems sold nationwide from 2005 to 2007. Small magnets inside the building pieces can fall out. Magnets found by young children can be swallowed or aspirated. 

This recall involves the 293-piece (item number BB1502H) and the180-piece (item number BB1431H) Magnabild Magnetic Building System sets. All of the plastic building pieces, except the 4-inch flexible rods, have the word "Magnabild" in raised lettering on them. The item number is found on a hang tag attached to the set. The product is designed for children older than three years.

FLOAT TANKS 

Brian Smith dba Serene Float Tanks is recalling Serene Float Tanks sold nationwide from August 2007 to October 2007. Electrical components in the float tank are not grounded, which can prevent the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) from tripping when needed, posing an electrocution hazard. 

This recall involves Serene Float Tanks, a water tank that is light- and soundproof, temperature insulated and ventilated. The heated tanks are filled with water and a dissolvent that allows a person to float effortlessly.

ASSESSMENT BLOCKS 

RR Donnelley Learning Group is recalling ESI-R Screening Materials sold nationwide from January 2003 to November 2007. Surface paint on the green wooden blocks contains excessive levels of lead. 

The green wooden blocks are part of the ESI-R Screening Materials, educational materials used by schools to assess young children. The items include 10 green wooden blocks, a plastic yellow car, an 8-ft. white cloth ribbon, 10 black and white printed cards with shapes, a red rubber ball, and a blue plastic button.

WOODED BLOCK AND TRAIN SETS 

Christmas Tree Shops is recalling Big Wooden Blocks and Jumbo Wooden Train Sets sold nationwide from October 2006 to November 2007. Surface paint on some pieces of the toys contains excessive levels of lead. 

The Big Wooden Blocks contain 30 or 60 colorful block pieces in 11 geometric shapes. The Jumbo Wooden Train Sets contain 70 wooden pieces including trees, stop and railroad crossing signs, a red wooden engine and green train cars.
