There are certain magic words in this
community. Two of them are "pancakes" and "sausage." Couple those
words with another all-time favorite phrase, "all you can eat," and
that should be enough to attract everyone's interest.

On Saturday, the Zion Lutheran School's PTL will host its annual
pancake and sausage breakfast, or lunch, or both if you want to
visit twice, from 7 a.m. till 1 p.m. The event will be at the
school, 1600 Woodlawn Road, on Lincoln's west side. Adult tickets
are only $5, and children's tickets only $3 (3-12-year-olds).
Children 2 and under can nibble away for free. Carryouts are
available.
Besides the meal, fresh sausage and other pork items will be
available for bulk purchase at the school that day until 2 p.m.
The event will also include a silent auction and bake sale.

Proceeds from the annual fundraiser, with significant help from
Thrivent Financial Services for Lutherans and many local businesses
as well as the farm community, are used to purchase and upgrade
school computers as well as to fund a scholarship for a student to
attend the school. Other programs that receive funding from the
event are improvements to playground equipment and the Reading Is
Fundamental program.
The annual event has been a staple of the school since soon after
its opening in 1975.
Everyone in the community is invited to visit the school, have a
great meal and help a worthy cause.
