Noon

Lincoln Heritage Days kickoff at St. Clara's Manor on Fifth Street. Free cookout and car show.

4 p.m.

Kiosk dedication by Main Street Lincoln on the Logan County Courthouse lawn.

5-7 p.m.

Ice cream social at Latham Park. $1 per person. Mary Todd Lincoln cake courtesy of Lincoln College. Ice cream courtesy of Culver's.

"Picnic in the Park." Chicken dinner, $7. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and families.

5:30-6 p.m.

Logan Railsplitting Association presents a crosscut saw, railsplitting and tomahawk throwing demonstration at Latham Park.

6 p.m.

Lincoln presenters at Latham Park: Max and Donna Daniels of Wheaton. Max as Abraham Lincoln and Donna as Mary Todd Lincoln will present "Abraham Lincoln Reflects on Gettysburg." This will be the 145th anniversary of the climactic day of that great battle.

6:30 p.m.

"Lincoln in Logan County" will be presented in the Lincoln Woman's Club building across from Latham Park. This PowerPoint presentation will feature Ostendorf's prints of Lincoln's activities in Logan County. Other points of interest and photos of Logan County historic sites will also be shown. Presentation provided by Paul Beaver, Lincoln College professor emeritus, and Ron Keller, curator of the Lincoln Museum at Lincoln College.

8 p.m.-midnight.

The Village Daze band will perform on the square.

Friday, July 4

10 a.m.

"Let Freedom Ring" -- Fourth annual Old Fashioned Children's Walking Parade, with tricycles, bicycles, strollers, wagons, floats and pets. (No motorized vehicles.) Prizes will be awarded. Line up at Scully Park, with registration at 9 a.m. and judging at 9:30 a.m.

11 a.m.

Water balloon fight with the Lincoln Fire Department at Lincoln Park District.
