20 years old;
daughter of Elise Anderson and
Jeff and Vicki Anderson;
graduate of Mount Pulaski High School

Kristie Anderson

Kristie plans to complete her associate degree in medical assisting from Robert Morris College. She will pursue her bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in health and fitness management, then further her education to achieve her degree in physical therapy.

Kristie was named Miss Congeniality at the Logan County Fair queen contest in 2007. She received a full athletic scholarship in 2007 and 2008 from Robert Morris and in 2006 from Illinois Central College. This past spring the Robert Morris softball team finished second in the USCAA national tournament. She was named to the all-tournament team in the Lee College Invitational in Texas. She was a starting player for the 2006 ICC Cougars, who finished fifth in the NJCAA national tournament, and was named to the NJCAA Academic All-American team.

In high school Kristie was named to "Who's Who Among High School Athletes," voted most athletic among her class peers, was on the honor roll, Algebra II Student of the Year, a member of the prom court and a class officer.

In the fall, Sabra will attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. There, she will major in business with a focus on marketing. She would also like to minor in communications. Eventually, she would like to be employed for a large firm and use her talents of leadership and communication to head up a major department.

Sabra's special honors include being an Illinois State Scholar, three-time winner of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award, junior class homecoming attendant, softball team most valuable player, winning a swim team academic award, receiving the Lincoln Pep Club Scholarship, being named to "Who's Who among High School Students," and selection as People to People Student Ambassadors National Alumni Ambassador of the Month.

Megan LeeAnne Farmer

Megan plans to graduate from the University of Illinois in May 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Spanish education and a teaching endorsement in psychology. She would love to introduce Spanish to young children and continue her graduate education.

Some of Megan's special honors are a 3.93 grade-point average at the University of Illinois, dean's list, National Scholars Honor Society, Gilman International Scholarship, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Golden Key International Honour Society, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Knights of Columbus Scholarship, salutatorian and winner of the Spanish Award at Lincoln Community High School, National Honor Society, Illinois State Scholar, National Society of High School Scholars, U.S. Air Force Recruiting Math and Science Award, Prairie State Achievement Award, and the President's Award for Academic Excellence.

Amy will be attending Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville on the Chancellor's Scholarship, majoring in business administration with a focus on entrepreneurship and management. Her goal is to one day run her own business and obtain a minor in accounting to become a CPA.

Amy's special honors include FBLA second-place winner and national qualifier -- business plan; member of the Central State Eight Athletic-Academic All-Conference Honor Roll -- varsity volleyball and cheerleading; member of the Central State Eight Conference championship team -- varsity volleyball; National Society for High School Scholars; the United States National Award for English; All American Scholar At-Large; the 2008 President's Education Award; 2008 Spanish Award; 2008-09 Illinois State Scholar; National Honor Roll; March 2008 Student of the Month -- Logan County Board; December Senior of the Month; cum laude graduate; salutatorian of the LCHS Class of 2008.

Jairris Vermeire

In the fall Jairris will attend Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She will be in the pre-pharmacy program with hopes of entering their pharmacy school in two years. After college she plans to become a pharmacist and someday become CEO of her own company.

Jairris was a member of the performance-in-the-round that won their regional three years in a row and was most improved speech member this year. She was elected to prom court her senior year and has been on the high honor roll all four years of high school. She is now a manager at Dairy Queen. Jairris has participated twice in the Grand National Championship Bands of America in Indianapolis and has marched at Walt Disney World in Florida with the Lincoln Marching Railers.
