[July 31, 2008]  Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois announced this week that it has hired a new Head Start director. Courtney Stewart has joined the agency to lead the preschool program, serving 338 children in the agency's six-county service area.

CivicStewart joins the agency after an extensive career in social services that included working as a home visitor for another Head Start program in Illinois. Recently, Stewart was the executive director of the YWCA in Decatur. She is a candidate for a master's degree in the nonprofit management program at the University of Illinois.

"We are very pleased to have Stewart join our program," said Angela Stoltzenburg, executive director. "She brings a wealth of management and child care experience. She is dedicated to serving the children in central Illinois with the best services possible."

Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois is a private, nonprofit organization serving six central Illinois counties. The Head Start preschool program prepares children for kindergarten and offers a variety of services to the children and their families. Interested individuals should contact the enrollment specialist at 217-732-2159, ext. 250, for application information, or visit capcil.org.
