At noon Wednesday the fairgrounds were still muddy and it looked bleak for some fair events.
Hard work by fair crews allowed the horse competition to go on.

As the day progressed the crowds came.
As early as 6:30 p.m. the amusement park was filled with families.
The stock car races rumbled with a little bit of mud.
