Schumacher joins Christian Homes

[July 31, 2008]  Jan Schumacher has been hired as communications coordinator for the corporate office of Christian Homes in Lincoln.

Schumacher will edit newsletters for the organization's 14 campuses and prepare written materials for the development office.

Schumacher worked as a columnist for a local newspaper and has extensive freelance public relations experience. She also has volunteered with numerous community organizations, including the Lincoln/Logan Chamber of Commerce, Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County, Main Street Lincoln, and Zion Lutheran Church and School.

Schumacher earned a degree in journalism from Northern Arizona University and is currently enrolled in the Certified Public Manager program at the University of Illinois, Springfield.

Christian Homes Inc., headquartered in Lincoln, has been a leader in Christ-centered services to senior adults since 1962. The company employs a staff of 2,400 and provides independent and assisted living, rehabilitation therapy, dementia care, and skilled nursing care to 3,000 older adults at 14 senior living communities in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Missouri.
