[July 31, 2008]  BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) -- Talk about coffee to go. A man trying to rob a Bossier City convenience store about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday got coffee and cleaning fluid thrown at him by the clerk. Police said the clerk at a Circle K store was at the coffee maker when a man walked up, showed a knife and demanded money.

InsuranceThe clerk threw coffee-maker cleaning solution at him. Police spokesman Mark Natale says he missed, but a pot of hot coffee followed, and that might have doused the crook.

Natale says the clerk ran from the store. The robber left a short time later, but not before taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.

Police are searching for the suspect.
