Still too much water! As seen at 4:30 p.m. on Friday in this view looking westward from Lincoln’s southwest side, creeks are still well out of their banks following the heavy rains that fell on Monday and Tuesday.
Drivers need to remain aware and cautious when traveling rural roads in Logan County and other areas of central Illinois.

To the bottom right is the Lincoln Elks Club, left is Forest Hills and farthest left is Salt Creek, which normally flows westward undetected between the double tree line. Where tree lines meet near the top is the convergence of Kickapoo Creek and Salt Creek, with more flooding in the Rocky Ford area beyond. I-55 divides the top and bottom.

The National Weather Service cautions that any additional rainfall could cause flash flooding.

Additionally, water is being released today from Spaulding Dam.
