Traffic reports collected on Tuesday, June 10

Crash on Monday, June 9, 12:55 p.m., at Woodlawn and College Street

Unit 1: Benjamin J. Gaston, male, 30, of Lincoln; driving a 2002 Dodge Caravan

Unit 2: Barbara L. Semple, female, 73, of New Holland; driving a 1994 Lincoln Towncar

Gaston's vehicle rear-ended Semple's vehicle, which was stopped at a traffic light.

Gaston did not know what happened. He takes medicine for seizures and is believed to have been having a seizure just before and during the accident.

A witness said that he appeared slumped over the wheel as he passed the Ayerco gas station.

Crash on Monday, June 9, 12:57 p.m., at State Street and Woodlawn

Unit 1: Benjamin J. Gaston, male, 30, of Lincoln; driving a 2002 Dodge Caravan

Unit 2: Evan T. Wilkins, male, 18, of Lincoln; driving a 1998 Buick Regal

Gaston was in a crash prior to this one. Wilkins stated that he was stopped in the center turn lane on Woodlawn near State Street. Facing westbound, he saw Gaston traveling eastbound on Woodlawn in the outside lane. As Gaston approached, he began crossing lanes toward Wilkins' vehicle. Wilkins could not drive out of the way as Gaston's vehicle sideswiped him.

Gaston stated he didn't know he was in a crash and refused medical treatment. He has had a history of seizures. He was ticked for improper lane usage, and a S.O.S. site evaluation will be submitted for medical.

Court date: July 21, 1:30 p.m.

  • List, Chris E., 34-year-old male, Mason City; misdemeanor Class A -- domestic battery; arrested at Crossroads Motel on June 9; no bond

Logan County Sheriff's Department reports collected on Tuesday, June 10

  • Buggs, Tarrus, 21-year-old male; misdemeanor Class A -- failure to appear; arrested at 601 Broadway on June 9; $2,000 bond; court date: July 8

  • Hudson, Mitchell C., 25-year-old male, Elkhart; misdemeanor -- criminal damage to property, Class A, $1,000 bond; possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams, Class C, $750 bond; arrested at 107 Governor Oglesby, Elkhart, on June 9

  • McGrane, Timothy W., 28-year-old male; misdemeanor -- failure to appear for retail theft less than $150; arrested June 9; $2,000 bond

  • Taylor, Roberta J.; Class S -- sentenced to regular day-for-day
