Logan County coroner confirms woman's identity

Body found near Hartsburg is missing Mackinaw woman

[June 11, 2008]  The Logan County coroner, Robert Thomas, has announced that MeLisa D. Cleary, age 30, of Mackinaw, Tazewell County, was pronounced dead at 10:50 a.m. Monday on Interstate 155. The body was found at approximately the location for mile marker 7 1/2.

The cause of death is under investigation. The Tazewell County Sheriff's Department is the lead investigation agency, being assisted by the Logan County coroner's office, Logan County Sheriff's Department and Illinois State Police.

An autopsy has been performed Dr. Hnilica. The preliminary findings are not being released at this time due to the investigation.

Funeral arrangements are pending, as the body is being held by the coroner's office until further notice.
