Although a great portion of
central Illinois missed the rains Thursday, there is still an
advisory warning by the National Weather Service in effect for much
of Illinois, including all of central Illinois. A new band of
storms, some capable of producing rainfall in amounts of 1 to 2
inches, will be traveling through this area Friday. The rainfall,
coupled with ground already saturated from last week’s storms, could
produce localized flash flooding in low-lying areas as well as on
roads near streams and creeks.
Motorists are advised to use caution during these possible storms
today.
