[June 14, 2008]  (AP)  Severe weather was expected to track up the Ohio Valley on Saturday, with storms expected along the entire East Coast by late Saturday night. Strong winds, heavy rainfall and large hail were forecast. There was the possibility of tornadoes.

The South was to see afternoon scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy downpours and lightning likely in the afternoon.

The Pacific Northwest was to remain dry, but slightly cooler.

The Southwest was to remain warm and dry Saturday, but was to become cooler as the weekend progresses.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states on Friday ranged from a low of 19 degrees at Berthoud Pass, Colo., to a high of 105 degrees at Wink, Texas.
