[June 30, 2008]  The following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending June 28: 

JARDINE CRIBS 

Jardine Enterprises is recalling Jardine cribs sold nationwide from January 2002 to May 2008. The wooden crib slats and spindles can break, creating a gap, which can pose an entrapment and strangulation hazard.

NORDSTROM GIRLS' SANDALS 

Nordstrom Inc. is recalling Nordstrom's Cadence-Lea and Trio-Lea Girl's Sandals sold exclusively at Nordstrom stores nationwide from March 2008 to May 2008. The flower embellishments on the sandals can detach, posing a choking hazard. 

The recalled girl's sandals are leather with attached leather flowers and were sold under the "Cadence-Lea" and "Trio-Lea" names. "Cadence-Lea" sandals are white, light green or silver. "Trio-Lea" sandals are white or silver. They were sold in girls' sizes 5 through 12. Nordstrom is printed on the sandals. 

Consumers should return the sandals to any Nordstrom store for a full refund.

WATER PUMP MOTORS 

A. O. Smith Electrical Products Co. is recalling water pump motors sold nationwide from August 2007 to May 2008. The water pumps with the recalled motors are labeled as containing a one-horsepower motor, but actually contain a 3/4-horsepower motor. Under certain conditions, the smaller motor could overheat, posing a fire hazard. 

The recall involves motors included with lawn sprinkler pumps and jet pumps manufactured by F. E. Myers Co. The recall also includes replacement pump motors that were sold separately. A complete list of the recalled motors can be found at www.recalls.org

GLUE GUNS SOLD AT DOLLAR TREE STORES 

Dollar Tree Inc. is recalling Crafters Square Hot Melt Mini Glue Guns sold by Dollar Tree nationwide from December 2007 to March 2008. The recalled glue guns can short circuit, causing the gun to smoke. This poses a fire hazard. 

This recall involves the "Crafters Square Hot Melt Mini Glue Gun" with product number "939701". The glue gun is black with an orange trigger and measures approximately 4 1/2 inches from the back of the gun to the tip. "Crafters Square" and "939701" are located on the guns' packaging. "DS-010 Glue Gun" is written in raised letters on the handle of the gun. 

Consumers should return the glue guns to the store where purchased for a full refund.

TIRE SWINGS 

Miracle Recreation Equipment Co. is recalling playground tire swings sold nationwide from February 1995 to March 2008. The hanger clamp on the tire swing can fail causing the tire swing to detach. This poses a fall hazard. 

The recalled Tire Swing consists of a tire, which hangs from a swivel and three chains. The recall includes the following products and model numbers:

YOUTH ATVS 

Arctic Cat Inc. is recalling Model Year 2008 Arctic Cat 50cc and 90cc All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) sold nationwide from July 2007 to June 2008. The speed controller on the recalled ATVs could fail to return to the idle position when the throttle lever is released, or the speed controller could fail to be at idle on start up. This could result in loss of vehicle control, which could result in serious injury or death to the rider.

KAWASAKI ATVS 

Kawasaki Motors Corp. U.S.A. is recalling 2008 Model Year KFX 50 and KFX 90 Youth ATVs sold nationwide from August 2007 to June 2008. The throttle can fail to return to the idle position when released or could fail to be at idle on start-up. This could result in loss of vehicle control, posing a risk of serious injury or death. 

The recall includes 2008 model year KFX 50 (50cc) and KFX 90 (90cc) youth ATVs. The affected models are green or white with black trim. The model name is located on either side below the handlebars.

KYMCO ATVS 

KYMCO USA is recalling 2008 Model Year Mongoose Youth ATVs sold nationwide from August 2007 to June 2008. A manufacturing defect in the carburetor can cause the throttle to stick open, posing a risk of serious injury or death. 

This recall involves model year 2008 Mongoose 50cc, 70cc and 90cc Youth ATVs. KYMCO is printed on a label located on the front of the vehicle, and the model name is printed on a label located on each side of the fuel tank.

REMOTE CONTROLLED HELICOPTERS 

Westminster Inc. is recalling "Thunder Wolf" Remote Controlled Indoor Helicopters sold nationwide from June 2007 to December 2007. The rechargeable battery inside the helicopter can overheat. This can result in the helicopter's body melting, as well as a risk of fire or burns. 

The "Thunder Wolf" remote-controlled indoor helicopter is made of foam and plastic, and measures about 7 inches by 3 inches. "TW0996" is printed on the tail of the helicopter and was sold in multiple accent colors. The helicopter comes with a controller and a separate charger. Only helicopters that do not have "Made in China" stamped on the underside of the helicopter are subject to the recall.

STANLEY CRIBS 

Stanley Furniture Company is recalling 2nd Nature Built to Grow Cribs sold nationwide from March 2006 to December 2007. The cribs could fail to meet a federal safety standard for crib dimensions. When the mattress support is in the middle setting, the space between the mattress and the crib could be too wide, posing an entrapment hazard. 

This recall involves the full size 2nd Nature Built to Grow cribs, model number 353-14-220. Model and serial numbers are located on the headboard. The crib is natural maple in color. Only the following serial numbers are included in the recall: 353-14-220-L-01, 353-14-220-L-02, 353-14-220-L-03, 353-14-220-L-04, 353-14-220-L-05, 353-14-220-L-06, 353-14-220-L-07, 353-14-220-L-08, 353-14-220-L-101, and 353-14-220-L-103. The recall does not include cribs sold after December 2007.

Hewlett-Packard Co. is recalling HP Fax 1010 and 1010xi Machines sold nationwide from November 2002 to December 2004.An internal electrical component failure can cause overheating of the product posing a risk of burn or fire. 

This recall involves the HP Fax 1010 and HP Fax 1010xi models manufactured from November 2002 through September 2004. The HP logo and the model name and number are printed on the front of the fax machine.

CHILDREN'S JACKET 

Coolibar Inc. is recalling Children's Sun Block Jackets and Hoodies sold nationwide from March 2005 to April 2008. The garments have a drawstring through the hood, posing a strangulation hazard. 

The recalled jackets and hoodies have a drawstring through the hood. They were sold in children's sizes 2 through 12. The jackets were sold in the following colors: tan, stone, bayou blue, crisp blue, white, berry, and citrus. The hoodies were sold in teal, kiwi, mandarin, aloe green, paprika, hibiscus, smokey blue, white, sherbet, cobalt, and stone.

E-Z-GO is recalling RXV Golf Cars sold nationwide from January 2008 to June 2008. The hip restraints on the cars can detach at the base, posing a fall and injury risk. 

This recall involves electric and gasoline-powered Fleet RXV, Freedom RXV and RXV Shuttle 2+2 golf cars. The model names and the E-Z-GO logo are printed on the sides and front panel of all three vehicles. Serial numbers ranging from 9300001 to 9300188 and 5000000 to 5021328 are printed on a plate attached to the steering column, and the front and rear frames.
