[March 15, 2008]  The next session of home-school P.E. is set for March 27-April 24. This program is for children ages 5 years and up and will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Character development, fun "gym" play and exercise are just some of the things participants will be taught. Stop by the Y office to register your family today.

Parents, are you looking for some fun away from the kids? Why not sign up for Adult Wiffle Ball League. League play will be on Thursday nights, starting April 24. Participants may join individually or form their own team. Gather some friends and register your team at the Y office.

The Y Run Club is looking for a few good runners. The club is for both beginners and advanced runners who are looking for others to run and train with. Runs will be every other week, starting in March, with various routes and locations. Participants will also be kept informed about other runs throughout the state. If interested, please call the Y office for more information.

The YMCA is currently putting together information for its summer day camp, planned for June 2-Aug. 15, with sessions from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Camps are offered for children in both K-3 and grades 4-6. Both camps are located at the Y Activity Center and are in air-conditioned rooms. Various activities are planned, including daily swimming, field trips, art fun, outside group games, water play, nature adventures and science fun. Call the Y office to get your name on the mailing list, as spaces are limited and fill up fast.

YMCA swimming lessons are fast approaching. Lessons start June 16 at the Lincoln Elks Club pool, with both morning and afternoon sessions available. Swimming lessons for children age 6 months (with parent) through 12 years with various skill levels are available. Stop by the Y office today to register, as space is limited.
