[March 21, 2008]  The Lincoln Park District is announcing our own March Madness at the Sports Center. We are offering to add a month to your membership for free. New members purchasing a one-year membership in March and referring to this article will get the 13th month added for free. If you already are a member, all you need to do is recruit a new member who purchases a one-year membership, have them tell us they joined because of you, and we will add an extra month to your membership. This offer is valid until March 31.

The senior fitness class is still going strong. Meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:45, this 45-minute workout is a real hit with the participants. This mixed-gender class starts with walking our indoor courts, followed by stretching and mild cardio work to improve balance and fitness. Join Jacki and the others. There is always room for you and a friend.

Health fair time is fast approaching. On April 4, all the area fifth-graders are invited to attend. Home-schooled fifth-grade students are also invited to attend. The hours for this event are 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. This year's theme is "Are You Health Smart?" The goal of the Children's Health Fair is to encourage them to learn about health in a way that allows them to play an active part in the learning process. More than 25 agencies will be represented at the fair.

The Community Health Fair is April 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free. More than 60 organizations will have displays or offer health screenings. Guests at the fair will learn new and innovative approaches to wellness. Attendees are encouraged to register for numerous door prizes.
