[March 24, 2008]  The following recalls were issued by various federal and state agencies during the week ending March 22: 

MAGNETIC ACTION FIGURES 

MEGA Brands America Inc. is recalling MagnaMan Magnetic Toy Figures sold nationwide from January 2005 to December 2007. Small magnets inside the figures can detach. Magnets found by young children can be swallowed or aspirated. 

The recalled MagnaMan magnetic toys are figures that have body parts that attach with magnets. They come in either a "Futuristic Warrior" or "Ancient Warrior" theme. Each figure comes with three accessories. A complete list can be found at www.recalls.org

MEGA MAGNETIC TOYS 

MEGA Brands America Inc. is recalling Magtastik and Magnetix Jr. Pre-school Magnetic Toys sold nationwide from January 2005 to December 2007. Magnets in the small flexible parts of the animals, vehicles and building sets can detach. Magnets found by young children can be swallowed or aspirated. 

The Magtastik and Magnetix Jr. Pre-school Magnetic Toys include small flexible parts embedded with magnets that allow the parts to connect to large, colored metal balls. A complete list of the recalled toys can be found at www.recalls.org.

JOURNALS AND CALENDARS 

Galison/Mudpuppy is recalling Wire-O Bound Journals and Calendars sold nationwide from August 2003 to December 2007. The paint on the metal spiral bindings of the journals contains excessive levels of lead. 

The recalled journals are spiral bound journals, activity books, and calendars sold in a variety of styles, sizes and colors. Galison or Mudpuppy and the ISBN numbers are printed on the back cover of the calendars/journals. A complete list of the recalled items can be found at www.recalls.org

RUG WARMERS 

WarmlyYours is recalling Comfortplus Under Area Rug Warmers sold nationwide. The rug warmer’s cord can come loose from the plug and cause sparks or flames, posing a fire hazard. 

The rug warmers are cream-colored with a non-slip pad, a tan nylon edging and a black electrical cord. They were sold in three sizes, small 3 ½ ft. x 4 ½ ft., medium 4 ¾ ft. x 7 ¾ ft., and large 7 ¾ ft. x 9 ¾ ft. Model numbers UAH-3646-120, UAH-4979-120, and UAH-7999-120 are printed on a label located on the underside of the rug warmer. 

Consumers should return the cord to WarmlyYours using the pre-paid shipping labels that the firm will provide for a full refund or a replacement product. WarmlyYours is directly contacting purchasers of the warming rugs.

TOASTERS 

Salton Inc. is recalling Electric Toasters sold nationwide from January 2000 to December 2007. The toaster can turn on without bread in the slots and ignite items placed on top of it, posing a fire hazard. 

This recall involves the chrome two-slice electric toasters sold under the following brands: Farberware (model # FCT200 or FCT100), Hoffritz (model # HZT2 and HZT2M), and Russell Hobbs (model #RH2MT). The brand name and model number are printed on a plate located on the underside of the toaster.

PROGRESS LIGHTING FIXTURES 

Progress Lighting is recalling Progress Lighting Outdoor Ceiling Light Fixtures sold nationwide from January 2007 to November 2007. A weld that affixes a mounting bracket to the ceiling pan can fail, which can cause the fixture to fall and injure nearby persons.

Only Progress Lighting ceiling-mounted outdoor light fixtures with model numbers P5526-20 and P5526-44 are included in the recall. "Made in/Hecho En/Fabrique Aux China" and the model numbers are written on the packaging of the product.

TOY PUZZLE VEHICLE SETS 

QVC is recalling Toy Puzzle Vehicle Sets sold exclusively by QVC from September 2002 to December 2007. Surface paints on the puzzle pieces and components contain excessive levels of lead. 

The recall includes the 16 piece Puzzle Track Play sets also known as Battery Operated Puzzle Vehicle sets. QVC item number T16876 is printed on the exterior of the brown box packaging. 

Consumers should contact QVC at (800) 367-9444 between 7 a.m. and 1 a.m. ET to return the sets to QVC for a full refund including shipping and handling or visit

EASTER TOYS 

Hobby Lobby Stores Inc. is recalling Camouflage Eggs and Spinning Egg Top Toys sold nationwide from January 2008 to March 2008. The paint on the toys contains excessive levels of lead. 

Description:

The Camouflage Easter Egg Treat Containers have Item #1031 printed on the front of the packaging and are white, brown and green camouflage colors, sold in a package of eight eggs. "Made in China for Tony Development and Mfg Ltd; TST, Kin, HK" and UPC code number 43078 01031 are printed on the back of the packing.

The Easter Spinning Egg Tops have Item # 1054 printed on the front of the packaging and are multi-colored and come in packages of a single egg and a rip cord. "Made in China for Tony Development and Mfg Ltd. TST, Kin, HK" and UPC code number 43078 01054 are printed on the back of the packaging.
