[March 26, 2008]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

St Clara's Manor to sponsor bingo

St. Clara's Manor will sponsor the Thursday bingo games at The Oasis, beginning at 1 p.m.

Memories class

The monthly memories class is scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Friday in the library at the senior center. No reservations are necessary. Participants are asked to bring their own pen and paper to learn skills needed to preserve memories for families and friends.

SHARE distribution

The Self Help and Resource Exchange program distribution date is Friday, between 4 and 5:30 p.m., at the senior center. The SHARE program is an outreach sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Peoria. For more details, you may call 732-6132.

Oasis Belles

The Oasis Red Hat group will meet April 1, beginning at 11 a.m. After the meeting, lunch is available for purchase. Please call 732-6132 for a reservation.

Hearing and screening test

Free hearing tests will be available April 2 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The service is provided by Joyce Dearth, B.C.H.I.S., from the Hearing Aid Center. Screening is by appointment only. Call the senior center at 732-6132.

Tuesday's lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch for April 1 will feature butter dill chicken, potatoes, salad, bread and butter, and dessert. The cost of the meal is $3.75; or if you stay and play cards, the meal is $3.25. The deadline to make reservations is noon Monday.
