Todd Mourning, rehab services manager, and Kristen Fulton, senior
physical therapist, will discuss how patients know it is time to
consider joint replacement surgery, the surgical process and
postoperative therapy process. Individuals experiencing chronic
pain in their knees or hips are encouraged to attend, as well as
family members.
Dr. Rodney Herrin and Dr. Tomasz Borowiecki both perform several
joint replacement surgeries at ALMH each year. Therapy begins in the
hospital just one day after surgery. Most patients choose to
continue their physical therapy at ALMH for all or part of the next
six weeks.
Total joint replacement, or arthroplasty, is the most common
surgical method in the world today. It has been proven as an
effective and practical treatment for severe osteoarthritis, one of
the main causes of joint pain.
To register or for additional information regarding the free
seminar at ALMH, call the ALMH rehab department at 217-732-5065 or
