Community Action Partnership of Central
Illinois announced on Thursday that the senior nutrition program is
expanding with the opening of another Mason County meal site, in
Manito. Meals will be served to active seniors at the Forman Center
beginning May 19. Meals will be available Monday, Wednesday and
Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. unless a previous Forman Center
event is scheduled.

Partial funding from the Area Agency on Aging for Lincolnland allows
Community Action to provide the meals at a suggested donation of
only $3 in order to encourage participation. No participant is
denied for inability to make the suggested donation. The restaurant
owner of the South 40 and Pour Farm, Sue Treat, has agreed to cater
the meals. "We are excited for this opportunity to work with Sue
in order to better serve the seniors in the community," said Angie
Jenkins, senior programs director. "We look forward to an active
group in Manito, including any seniors over the age of 60 and their
spouses."
Community Action Partnership staff will be at the Forman Center
on May 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Interested participants are
encouraged to sign up in advance so that enough meals will be
prepared. The first 15 participants who sign up will receive a free
gift. To learn more or to sign up, contact Community Action at
217-732-2159, ext. 240 or 242.
