SPRINGFIELD -- Illinois State
Police Capt. James W. Wolf, District 9 commander, announced the
results of an Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement patrol conducted in
Sangamon County on May 9. State police troopers made 27 arrests:

influence of alcohol, 1

Zero tolerance, 1

Illegal consumption
of alcohol by minor, 4

Possession of
cannabis, 3

Possession of drug
paraphernalia, 3

Illegal
transportation of alcohol, 2

No valid driver's

No insurance, 1

Failure to wear
safety belt, 8

Illinois Vehicle Code violation(s), 3
The Illinois State Police agency reminds those who drink and
drive that future patrols will be conducted, and the state police
will continue to work to save lives by taking DUI offenders off the
road by arresting them and locking them up.
Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement patrols are part of the
"You Drink and Drive. You Lose" campaign and, when applicable,
are funded through a grant from the United States Department of
Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The
grant is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation,
Division of Traffic Safety.
