County board administrative secretary JoAnne Marlin secured an
Illinois Public Risk Fund Grant for $7,600. Safety committee
chairman Rick Aylesworth said that the funds will be used to upgrade
the fire alarm system at the Logan County Safety Complex.
The Logan County Emergency Management Agency has had two monthly
meetings, and several more are planned to develop an eight-year,
integrated, multi-agency training plan. The hospital, health
department, fire and law enforcement departments, Community Action,
Red Cross, and anyone with community resources that might be used in
an emergency or anyone responsible for the protection of a large
congregation of people, such as at schools and prisons, have been
meeting and sharing their emergency operation needs and plans.
The measure meets compliance with new state or federal mandates.
Three full-scale and seven tabletop exercises are on the calendar,
EMA director Dan Fulscher said.
