SPRINGFIELD -- The 44th District is
slated to receive more than $23.41 million for road and bridge
improvements in the coming fiscal year, according to state Sen. Bill
Brady, R-Bloomington.

The 44th District senator released details of 19 local projects
included in Illinois' $1.9 billion road plan for fiscal 2009, which
starts July 1, 2008. The six-year plan also includes an additional
$143.6 million for local roads and bridges. Fiscal 2009 projects
for the 44th District:
Logan County
-
$950,000 for bridge
removal and demolition on U.S. 136 at Old GM&O Railroad 0.2 mile
east of First Street in San Jose.

$100,000 for land acquisition costs for
a project on U.S. 136 at Old GM&O Railroad 0.2 mile east of
First Street in San Jose.
Christian County
DeWitt County
-
$4,690,000 for
resurfacing 5.18 miles of I-74, from McLean County line to Piatt
County line. Includes safety improvements and bridge joint
repair.

$1,225,000 for culvert replacement on
Illinois 10 and Illinois 48, at 0.9 mile east of Illinois 48 and
at 0.3 mile north of Illinois 10 at Weldon.
Macon County
-
$6,660,000 for
resurfacing 4.06 miles of Illinois 72, from 4.41 miles west of
Piatt County line to 0.3 mile west of Piatt County line.
Includes safety improvements and bridge deck overlay.

$1,960,000 for
bridge replacement on Illinois 48 at Friends Creek, 0.8 mile
north of Elm Street in Argenta.

$1,620,000 for bridge rehabilitation on
Wyckles Road at Sangamon River in Decatur.

$1,720,000 for
bridge rehabilitation on I-74 over Little Kickapoo Creek, 1.1
miles east of U.S. 51.

$1,100,000 for
bridge repair, bridge deck waterproofing and slope wall repair
on I-55 and U.S. 51 over U.S. 51 Business; at 0.5 mile and at
0.7 mile east of U.S. 51; at 0.4 mile west of U.S. 51; and at
0.3 mile west of Old 51.

$878,000 for
resurfacing, patching and impact attenuators in Bloomington on
1.31 miles of U.S. 51 Business, U.S. 51 Business (southbound)
and Main Street, from Lafayette Street to Woodridge Road.

$400,000 for preliminary engineering
costs for a project southwest of Bloomington on I-55 northbound
over I-74 eastbound and at I-55 Business southbound.
Sangamon County
- $128,000 for jurisdictional transfer costs for a project on
Old Illinois 29, from Old Illinois 29 to Old Illinois 29 in
Berry (around fertilizer plant). Contingent on jurisdictional
transfer.
Tazewell County

$1,100,000 for
preliminary engineering costs for a project at U.S. 150 and
Meadows Avenue, from Urbandale Avenue in East Peoria to Detroit
Avenue in Morton.

$220,000 for
preliminary engineering costs for a project on Illinois 9 at Mud
Creek, 2.5 miles west of Mackinaw.

$210,000 for preliminary engineering
costs for a project on Illinois 9 at Mackinaw River tributary,
0.3 mile west of Mackinaw.

utility adjustment costs for projects at various locations in
the district.
