The
Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in
Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games.
Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to
all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends
of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and
reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call

Oasis potluck and bingo Join us at 11:30 a.m. Thursday for
our Thanksgiving potluck, featuring turkey and the fixings, special
dishes, salads, and wonderful desserts. There is no charge for food
or beverage provided at this event. If you do not bring a dish to
pass and wish to make donation, the suggested amount for November is
$3. We will have entertainment, and our monthly drawing is from
Culver's. Stay for bingo, sponsored by Christian Village.
"Healthy Traditions"
Take heart and come to our "Healthy Traditions" mini-seminar on
Friday at 10 a.m. at The Oasis. Rebecca Van Nydeggen will share
insights into how to make lighter versions of family favorites
without sacrificing taste. You will learn how easy it is to make
slight alterations to your time-honored recipes to keep cherished
traditions alive, just healthier. There will be samples for you to
try.
November birthdays
Birthday time! November birthdays will be celebrated on Monday at
1:30 p.m. at the senior center. Come and enjoy the entertainment,
cake and ice cream.

Tuesday's lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Nov. 18 features tater tot casserole,
carrot and celery sticks, bread and butter, and dessert for $3.75;
or, if you stay to play cards, the cost is $3.25. The reservation
deadline is Monday noon.
Card winners
The winner for weekday pinochle was Roy Sebastian. The weekend
winners were Les Van Bibber and Irene Tumilty. Congratulations.
