Mr. Berger was an operating engineer at Logan correctional center and                 previously at Lincoln Developmental Center,  Lincoln

Place of death: Christian Village

Time of death. 4:10 a.m. November 27, 2008

A graveside service will be held Monday, Dec. 1 at 1:00 p.m. at New Union Cemetery, Lincoln, with the Rev. Andrew Nyren leading service.

Visitation: Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home,  Lincoln

Memorials should be made to the:           American Lung Association

Mr. Berger's parents were Edward and Fay Comstock Berger.

Birthdate: Jan. 2, 1933 in Lincoln, Il

He married  Dolores Davison on June 5, 1954 in Middletown Il.

Survivors: his wife of Lincoln, two sons:  Ronald (Jackie) Berger of Lincoln, Il,     Brian (Karen) Berger of Chatham, Il,      four brothers:  Ed (Betty) Berger of Tempe, AZ, Willard (Virginia) Berger of Mohomet, Il, Bill (Darlene) Berger of Lincoln, Il, Leo (Aree) Berger of Manassas, VA, one sister:  Ruth (Jim) Follis of Carson City,NV, one sister-in-law: Margaret Berger of Lincoln, Il

Mr. Berger has five grandchildren and one great grand child.  

Mr. Berger was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Larry Berger: two brothers: Carl and Kenneth Berger

Mr. Berger is affiliated with the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lincoln

Mr. Berger was active in Eagles Lodge #2708; Moose Lodge; Lincoln, Sportsman Club; operating engineers local;  AFSCME;  National Rifle Association.

He enjoyed fishing and reading books on history especially Abraham Lincoln. He was an avid Cub fan and dearly loved his grandchildren and great granddaughter
