For Linda Myers, it's a holiday
tradition to take time out of her schedule to honor loved ones who
have died.
For 18 years, she's done so by supporting Light Up A Life, a
community program in support of the Abraham Lincoln Healthcare
Foundation. This year Myers made donations in memory of her husband,
Bob, who died in 2005, as well as her parents and a special aunt.

"It's so important to me, especially during the holidays, to
remember family members who are no longer with me," Myers said. "I
really enjoying going to the ceremony at ALMH with some of my family
members so that we can pay tribute to those very special loved
ones." The community is invited to attend the Light Up A Life
ceremony, which will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the circle
drive at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
John and Frankie Guzzardo, co-chairs of this year's Light Up A
Life campaign, will offer a brief program and invocation, followed
by the lights presentation.
Everyone is invited inside the hospital afterward for a soup and
chili meal.
Families and individuals may still send tribute gifts in memory
of someone who has died or in honor of individuals still living. The
suggested donation amount is $10 per name, with proceeds benefiting
patient care at ALMH.
Each Light Up A Life tribute directly benefits patient care in
Logan County. Gifts may be designated to purchase medical equipment
at ALMH, fund scholarships for future ALMH health care providers,
pay for dental services on the H.O.P.E. Mobile or provide
unrestricted support for future ALMH projects.
