Mr. Betzelberger was a retired West Lincoln farmer. 

Place of death: Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Time of death 10:03 pm. Date: Nov. 28, 2008

 

Service to be held at 10:30 am. Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Fricke -Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln Il. Rev. Jame Hahs officiating         .

Cemetery: Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland Il.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Memorials should be made to the Lincoln Logan County Food Pantry. 

Parents: Herman and Marie Hilgendorf Betzelberger.

Mr. Betzelberger was born Nov. 8, 1920  in Emden Il.                                      

He married Helen L. Hawes on Nov. 26 1942 in Kansas City MO. She preceded him in death on March 14, 1999  

Survivors include 2 sons  Ron (Jan) Betzelberger of Lincoln Il. and Scott   (Sharon) Betzelberger of Beaverton OR.

Two daughters, Rita (Larry) Arnold of Largo FL. and Leanne (Pat) Christenson of Carol Stream Il. 

Mr. Betzelberger has 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lincoln.

Memberships: A graduate of New Holland High School, 4H leader of Husky Helpers for 27 years. School board member of Burtonview Grade School, West Lincoln School serving at the time the school was built, and former board member of Lincoln Community High School. Served as president for one year for the Logan County Farm Bureau, served for many years for the Logan County Health Improvement Association. Former chairman of the trustees of Emden United Methodist Church and secretary treasurer for Methodist Men. An active volunteer and board member of the Lincoln Logan County Food Pantry.
