Agriculture futures decline sharply on CBOT

[October 07, 2008]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures traded lower Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

InsuranceWheat for December delivery fell 45 cents to $5.9525 a bushel; December corn lost 30 cents to $4.24 a bushel; December oats dropped 20 cents to $2.94 a bushel; November soybeans lost 70 cents to $9.22 a bushel.

Beef futures traded lower and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle fell 3 cents to 92.6 cents a pound; October cattle dropped 3 cents to 97.67 cents a pound; October lean hogs added 0.05 cent to 66.47 cents a pound; February pork bellies slipped 1.05 cents to 93.05 cents a pound.
