More scholarships announced at Lincoln College

[October 16, 2008]  Lincoln College sophomore Katelyn Atteberry of Lincoln is this year's recipient of the H. Safford and Betty Peacock Foundation Scholarship and the Marvin D. Johnson Scholarship at Lincoln College.

Atteberry is a 2007 graduate of Lincoln Community High School. She is currently working on general education courses and plans to graduate in May. She has achieved academic success and was listed on the fall 2007 and spring 2008 special honors list. She is the daughter of Gary and Judy Atteberry of Lincoln.

The H. Safford and Betty Peacock Foundation Scholarship is awarded to students who have achieved academic honors. The scholarship was established by LC trustee emeritus H. Safford Peacock along with his wife, Betty Peacock, of Lincoln.

The Marvin D. "Swede" Johnson award is given to a student who is involved with student activities and has contributed to the well-being of the entire Lincoln College community. The award is sponsored by the family of the late Marvin D. Johnson, who received an honorary degree from Lincoln College in 1971.

Daniel W. Bock Endowed Scholarship

Lincoln College sophomore Rachel Tabor, daughter of Jeff and Lorraine Tabor of Lincoln, is this year's recipient of the Daniel W. Bock Endowed Scholarship at Lincoln College.

Tabor, a 2007 Lincoln Community High School graduate, is taking liberal arts courses at Lincoln College. She plans to continue her education at a four-year university after earning her associate degree at Lincoln College. She was listed on the 2007 fall semester dean's list. She is active with the Lincoln College women's golf team.

The Daniel W. Bock Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a student who achieves academic excellence. The award is given by Lincoln College trustee and Lincoln businessman Dan Bock.

J. Richard Gehlbach Endowed Scholarship, the Marguarite and Paul Berger Memorial Scholarship, and the Corrine Houston Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Lincoln College sophomore Max Pozagai of Lincoln is this year's recipient of the J. Richard Gehlbach Endowed Scholarship, the Marguarite and Paul Berger Memorial Scholarship, and the Corrine Houston Memorial Endowed Scholarship at Lincoln College.

Pozsgai is a 2006 graduate of Lincoln Community High School. He is currently studying general education courses and plans to continue his education at a four-year university. He has achieved academic success at LC and was listed on the fall 2007 semester president's list. He is the son of Lasz and Lou Pozsgai of Lincoln.

The J. Richard Gehlbach Scholarship is awarded to a worthy student and is given in memory of Mr. J. Richard Gehlbach by his father, John Gehlbach, a longtime member of the Lincoln College board of trustees.

The Marguarite and Paul Berger Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students in good academic standing. It is given by the Berger family in memory of Paul Berger (LC '32), along with his sister Marguarite (LC '36).

The Corrine Houston Memorial Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a student from Logan County and was established in memory of Ms. Houston, who was a retired educator and member of the Lincoln University class of 1913.

Logan County Farm Bureau Scholarship

Brandon Farmer of Middletown is this year's recipient of the Logan County Farm Bureau Scholarship at Lincoln College.

Farmer, a 2007 Lincoln Community High School graduate, is taking liberal arts courses at Lincoln College. He plans to continue his education at a four-year university. He is active with the Lincoln College men's basketball team. He is the son of Bret and Beth Farmer of Middletown.

The Logan County Farm Bureau Scholarship is awarded to worthy students in good academic standing who have an interest in agricultural studies.

Logan County Voiture 985 of Forty & Eight Scholarship

Crystal Johnson of Lincoln is this year's recipient of the Logan County Voiture 985 of Forty & Eight Scholarship at Lincoln College.

Johnson, a 2007 Lanphier High School graduate, is taking liberal arts courses at Lincoln College and plans to pursue a degree in nursing at St. John's School of Nursing. She is the daughter of Deborah Johnson of Lincoln.

The scholarship was made possible through the generosity of the members of the Logan County Voiture 985 of the Forty & Eight. The $1,000 endowed scholarship will be awarded annually to a student from the Logan County area.

Lincoln College sophomore Andrew Schonauer of Lincoln is this year's recipient of the H. Safford and Betty Peacock Foundation Scholarship and the Corrine Houston Memorial Endowed Scholarship at Lincoln College.

Schonauer is a 2007 graduate of Lincoln Community High School. He is currently working on general education courses and plans to graduate in May. He has achieved academic success and was listed on the fall 2007 and spring 2008 special honors list. He is the son of John and Sherry Schonauer of Lincoln. He plans to major in criminal justice.

The H. Safford and Betty Peacock Foundation Scholarship is awarded to students who have achieved academic honors. The scholarship was established by LC trustee emeritus H. Safford Peacock along with his wife, Betty Peacock, of Lincoln.

The Corrine Houston Memorial Endowed Scholarship is awarded to worthy students from Logan County. The scholarship was established in memory of Ms. Houston, who was a retired teacher and a member of the Lincoln University Class of 1913.
