[October 27, 2008]  Junior Achievement of Central Illinois is offering free breakfast to business community leaders on Nov. 4 at the Maple Club. The "Eggs & Education" event runs from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. or earlier and is sponsored by the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce, Eaton and Wal-Mart. Attendees must RSVP by calling the chamber of commerce at 217-735-2385.

Junior Achievement teaches its K-12 financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship programs in 615 classrooms across central Illinois, including West Lincoln-Broadwell, Chester-East Lincoln and Carroll Catholic, through business volunteers called classroom consultants.

CivicCody Atkins, Junior Achievement board member and general manager of the Lincoln Wal-Mart, said, "Junior Achievement has grown 255 percent in the classroom in recent years and now reaches over 13,000 students annually. The business community will be surprised at the secret behind the growth and what’s in it for them. The business community needs to learn about how valuable JA is to our community."
