"Early voting is an added
convenience for voters who simply would like to cast their ballot at
a time that is less hectic than that of Election Day," Litterly
said. "We have already had over 700 cast ballots in the office, and
voters can continue to take advantage of early voting today through
Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m." A voter must show proof of
identification in order to early vote. Early voting ends Thursday;
however, absentee voting is available through Monday. The county
clerk's office will be open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for
voters to cast an absentee ballot.
The county clerk's office expects approximately a 75 percent
turnout of total registered voters in Logan County to cast ballots
in this election. In the 2004 general election, the voter turnout
was 65 percent.
