[September 10, 2008]  MIAMI (AP) -- At least one Miami-Dade official thinks it's an embarrassment to have a street named after retired baseball star Jose Canseco.

Auto RepairThat's why Miami-Dade County Commissioner Joe Martinez -- whose district includes Jose Canseco Street -- is proposing a resolution to have the name changed. If the resolution makes it through a committee on Tuesday, it will go to the full Board of County Commissioners for a final vote.

Martinez says the main reason he wants the name change is Canseco's admitted steroid use. Canseco graduated from Miami Coral Park Senior High. He revealed his steroid use -- as well as that of other players -- in his 2005 book, "Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big."
