WL-B baseball update

[September 11, 2008]  The Wolverine baseball team has been busy in recent days.

CivicIn a 9-6 victory over Sangamon Valley, Brock Byrge was the winning pitcher and Joey Olden notched the save. Jordan Yarcho and Sam Tiffany each had three hits and two RBIs in the game. Levi Curry was 2-for-2 with an RBI and run scored.

In Logan County Tournament action, the Wolverines lost to Mount Pulaski 10-3. Dane Eimer took the loss on the mound, while collecting five strikeouts in three innings of work. Yarcho and Curry both had two hits in the game.

On Tuesday, Joey Olden took the loss at Williamsville 12-2. Dane Eimer was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Olden had two hits, including a double.

At home on Wednesday evening, Eimer took the loss 10-2 against Springfield Christian. Olden had two hits, Seth Graue had a double, and Brian Cade and Curry also had hits.

The Wolverines will next host a game in the Mount Pulaski Regional at Miller Field (WL-B school) on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. against Greenview.
