This year's Fall Farm Day in Logan County, an
agritourism event, will showcase several farm and
agriculture-related industries within the county and will feature a
guided tour through parts of the county, with emphasis on
farm-related locations.

Fall Farm Day in Logan County will be on Sunday with a bus tour from
12:45 to 6 p.m. that covers agritourism sites in Elkhart,
Middletown, New Holland, Burton View and Beason. The tour departs
from the Information Station, 1555 Fifth St. in Lincoln, and will
wind through the county to explore agricultural sites including the
Elkhart grain elevator, Old Gillett Farm, the plastic animal farm,
Coers sheep farm, Burton View elevator and Gail's Pumpkin Patch.
Additionally, one site will have regular hours that day: Gail's
Pumpkin Patch, 1709 2000th Ave, Beason, will be open 1-5 p.m. Gail's
Pumpkin Patch, a family-owned and operated business, will offer a
variety of activities, including face and pumpkin painting, beeswax
candle making, farm tours and machinery, and a honey extraction
demonstration, as well as items for sale. You'll also be able to
learn about agriculture with a historical presentation by Logan
County expert Paul Gleason.
Geoff Ladd, executive director of the Abraham Lincoln Tourism
Bureau of Logan County, says, "The idea of agritourism is a great
one for our county, and the bureau intends to increase awareness of
the agricultural tourism opportunities in the area." Ladd added that
annual tours are being planned, with different sections of the
county featured each year.
Seating on the tour is limited, so reserve your spots as soon as
possible. Tickets are $5 per person and can be reserved by calling
the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County at 217-732-8687.
