[September 16, 2008]  (AP)  The fast-moving remnants of Hurricane Ike were to continue moving rapidly through eastern Canada and into the Canadian Maritimes on Monday, taking with them the precipitation associated with the storm. Breezy conditions were to remain through the Northeast, however.

DonutsThe Southeast was to see areas of showers and thunderstorms with warm sun in the afternoon.

To the west, there was to be a wide swath of dry conditions from the Mississippi Valley to the West Coast.

Parts of the West were to experience increasing temperatures while cooler air was filter into the eastern third of the country.

Temperatures were to be in the 70s in the Northeast; 70s, 80s, and some 90s in the Southeast Coast; 90s and 100s in the Southwest; and 80s and 90s in the Northwest.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Sunday ranged from a low of 23 degrees at Polebridge, Mont., to a high of 113 degrees at Death Valley, Calif.
