Man accused of stealing empty beer truck

[September 25, 2008]  FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- Police arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly stealing a beer truck, then dumping the vehicle after determining it contained no cargo.

Auto RepairPolice arrested the man on Monday on suspicion of felony theft of an automobile. Bail was set at $5,000 cash or bond on Tuesday.

Authorities say a deputy discovered the beer truck stuck in the mud along the Wild Rice River.

Sgt. Jeff Skuza said, "He'd stolen it thinking he'd get some beer, and it was completely empty."

Police identified the suspect through a tip from his friend.
