Keith Snyder to join Lincoln mayoral race

[September 26, 2008]  Lincoln resident Keith Snyder has released a statement saying he will have a press conference Tuesday regarding the city of Lincoln's mayoral race.

HardwareIn a phone conversation with Snyder, a veteran of state and local politics, he confirmed that he will use the press conference to announce his bid to become Lincoln's next mayor.

Snyder will join a list of mayoral candidates that includes incumbent Beth Davis-Kavelman, Mike Thornton and Pat O'Neill, who have previously announced. Below is a copy of Snyder's press release.

Mayoral campaign announcement

LINCOLN, IL - Keith Snyder, Vice-President of the Lincoln Community High School Board of Education, will make a public announcement regarding the 2009 City of Lincoln Mayoral Election next week.

The announcement will be on Tuesday, September 30th, at 4:30 p.m. on the grassy lot at the corner of Kickapoo and Pekin Streets, across from the Scully Building. The public is invited.

Snyder, who served on the District 27 Board of Education for nine years, is employed as Assistant Vice-President at Lincoln Christian College and Seminary. A Lincoln native, Snyder graduated from LCHS and earned a BA in Political Studies from the University of Illinois at Springfield and an MBA from Illinois State University. He had a 23-year career with the Illinois State Senate as a legislative analyst and ethics officer.
